What we do

NIRAS combines strategic advice and technical expertise with hands-on project and programme management. From feasibility studies and infrastructure development to establishing and supporting Project Implementation Units, procurement, technical assistance, and institutional capacity building, our Ukrainian and international experts work closely with clients and partners at national, regional, and municipal levels to turn strategies and investments into results for Ukraine’s reform and recovery.

Our project portfolio in Ukraine is characterised by a high degree of diversity. We work across a broad range of sectors rather than focusing on only one or two areas.

Agriculture
We support Ukraine in building a more competitive, sustainable and EU-aligned agricultural sector.
Infrastructure, including energy and water
Our work helps turn Ukraine’s reconstruction priorities into resilient, finance-ready infrastructure investments.
Private sector development
We work with businesses, industry organisations and public-sector partners to strengthen competitiveness, develop value chains and improve access to markets and investment.
Good governance and institution building
NIRAS supports national, regional and local authorities to strengthen governance, improve public services, develop institutional capacity and translate reform priorities into practical results.
Gender and human rights
We work to integrate gender equality, human rights and inclusion into programmes that strengthen democratic institutions and ensure reforms respond to the needs of different groups in society.
Monitoring, evaluation and learning
NIRAS provides independent monitoring, evaluation, research and learning to help development partners understand what is working, strengthen accountability and adapt programmes as Ukraine’s needs evolve.
Media and communications
We support independent, professional and locally rooted media as an important part of Ukraine’s democratic resilience.
